“MY CAREER HAS BEEN UNEXPECTED BY THE WAY EVERYTHING HAS COME TO ME”

“My path so far has been unexpected. Not because of the result, but because of how I got it. Out-comes are never directly proportional to any factor that one can imagine, and from me, it has been surprising in such many ways. There have been many circumstances in my life (my family, my teachers, etc.) who have made scaffolding to erect the complex building that is to be a pianist. But, overall, I could say that my trajectory began when I was 5 years old and started to play the black and white keys and it has continued very intensely by discovering as many secrets as possible about art to this day”.

“EVERY LISTENER AND SPECTATOR WILL BE KEY TO MY FUTURE PROJECTION”

“I am lucky to be able to present the originality and the real value of music in numerous concerts. Everyone who listens to me, no matter the place or the personal situation of listener (or mine, indeed), will be key to my future projection. I am happy to perform everywhere I go. I try to offer all the value of my profession and the immense content of information about the human being contained in a recital or piano concerto. The future will be shaped as it needs to be. Always, always, with a lot of work. Offer something with so much value to as many people as possible makes it sound like a very good future”.

“I FEEL A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY, A SENSE OF DUTY AND SERVICE TO HUMANITY”

“My dedication to art does not have an a priori explanation. It is not a dedication that can be intuitively put in the general order of the world. Not even in the most local music or in the piano world. What is true is that I feel a sense of responsibility, a sense of duty and service to humanity. While it sounds grand, the true art is appreciated without the obstacles of the traditions, the particularities of the different times and the prejudices of all those subjects that have always been delicate, like politics and religion. Classical music represents that: a global language without prejudice. All pianists should be messengers of such an idea and not of themselves”.

“MY CHALLENGE COMES DOWN TO EVERY CONCERT, NO MATTER THE VENUE”

“My challenges are always focused to every concert. At each event, no matter the size of the venue or the audience, there is something transcendent to offer to every person who has chosen to spend an hour or two of their life listening to me. Any piece of the great masters of music has such deep content that it is a real challenge every time it is played. If so with just one single piece, it is much deeper with the full repertoire”.

“ON THE RECORDINGS, I WILL TAKE THE MUSIC TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PURITY”

“Recordings will be the way I take the performance to the maximum level of purity to which I am qualified. Every time I play a piece that I have already studied – and for a long time – I discover new things. The aim of the recordings, from my point of view, is to bring this discovery of the composer to the deepest and most thorough possible level. And if possible, editing the sound as little as possible: everything must be as worked and as transparent as possible”.

“I AM A QUIET GUY WHO ACTUALLY LOVES MOTORSPORT OR PLAYING NINTENDO”

“I consider myself a rather quiet guy, often self-absorbed in my thoughts. My profession requires using the sense of hearing more than anything, so I tend to listen more than talk. My tastes and hobbies are pretty simple, especially when I have to use almost all my energy in music during the days leading up to any concert. I relax going out to eat something or dinner good food and try everything, especially in other countries. I like to catch my Nintendo and play for a while or read some classic novel, philosophy, although I always see myself with books without starting or half ending for weeks. I love the motor world, especially the four-wheeler, but it’s funny because I still didn’t even get my own driver’s license”.
